Citizens Advice Rutland provides free, impartial, confidential advice to the people of Rutland who have all kinds of housing problems.

We deal with issues of homelessness, housing disrepair, problems with rent and finding somewhere to live, to name a few. We let people know what their rights are and explain their housing options.

Homelessness Prevention

The prospect of losing your home is an extremely stressful situation to find yourself in and recent government statistics show that the number of people who are homeless has risen considerably in the last year. Homelessness doesn’t just include rough sleepers but includes people who have to stay with relatives and friends or “sofa- surf”.

If you are worried about possible eviction by your landlord or possession proceedings by your mortgage lender we can advise you on your options and help you negotiate so that you can hopefully remain in your home.
